Farewell Makayla

The golden sun rose above the lush green horizon to reveal it's brilliant light, stabbing my eyes. I did not want to wake up. But everyone else was up to say their final goodbyes to my dear friend. My mom, Mak, and I jumped into the car and drove to the airport for about an hour. When we arrived, we found out her flight was delayed 4 HOURS. So instead of just sitting at the airport, even though it sounded oh so tempting, my mom took us to a place called The Amana Colonies.

You might ask, what's that? Well to be quite honest i have no idea.

All i know is that it's a quaint little town established in the late 1800's.

Then if it's that old, they must have the CUTEST little treasures! And fortunately, they did. :)
Antique shopping here we come!
Hi my name is Honore and I have a problem. It is my obsession for chandeliers. I have one in my bedroom back home, 3 in my bedroom in Iowa, and even a chandelier in my bathroom. I LOVE CHANDELIERS!

"Do one thing everyday that makes you happy." Hmmm, how about getting more than 4 hours of sleep?

This is my amazing mom with a whole bunch of my favorite flowers: hydrangeas. Jealous, Ora?

Oh, don't even get me started with the German chocolate. Soft, lush, creamy cocoa goodness melting on my tongue....

Oh sorry. I think I caught myself drooling.

Mmmmm, now this definitely woke me up.

With my tummy very satisfied, we drove back to the airport to ship Makayla back to desert wasteland.

You might think that I was crying, but I was definitely NOT. It was just really windy, okay?

Well there she goes. Off to fly solo on an airplane, eventually to shrivel up into dust and blow away into the dry, dry desert. It was good knowing her while it lasted.

xoxo
