the Boston Massacre

otherwise known as
the Bloody Massacre

Paul Revere's Ride
I love hearing the stories over and over again of how America the Beautiful came to be. Early American History is definitely my favorite subject, especially the stories of the Founding Fathers. They sacrificed so much for me to have freedoms to develop and become a good disciple of the Lord. Because under a large, controlling, and powerful government, I wouldn't have the freedoms I have today: Freedom to worship how I choose, Freedom to speak and listen to anything I want, Freedom of expression, the freedom to peaceably assemble and petition the government, and more. Many freedoms were given to us and we need to act responsibly. The Founding Fathers didn't even know me, or most of you, and yet they sacrificed their lives for us. I am indeed indebted to them.

the signing of the Declaration of Independence
"All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without His Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without His Aid?"
