Hahaha NO. The county fair wasn't NEARLY this shnazzy. But it was still cute and had it's own charm to it.Every summer, a grand county fair is held in town only 15 minutes away from my house. It is seriously the highlight of my summer. Carnival rides, square dancing, cotton candy, tractor pull contests, petting zoo and everything in between flourishes at this exciting event. My favorite part was going to the square dance on Friday night.
My whole family went, getting all dressed up and ready to have a good time. But then when I got there, my gladiator sandals and Nordstrom skirt didn't exactly fit in with manure splashed boots and oversized t-shirts. Haha oh well! I ran into my friend Audry and we both screamed like long lost sisters seperated from birth, reuniting. We chatted and then Makayla, Lyric and I went to watch the dirt bike races.
We brought my youngest sister, Felicity, (who is 3 years old) because my mom and dad were dancing the night away. Fi absolutely loved it! She'd get all excited and wave frantically at the racers before the big man whipped down the flag for them to go. It'd get really loud, so Fi Fi would cover her ears and squish her face tighter than the Jonas brothers jeans. It was hilarious!
Another highlight was seeing the abundant variety of animals. All the cute little farmers bring their best animals (cows, goats, pigs, etc.) to enter into the the big contest on Saturday. My friend Becky got first place with her cow! But then her 12 year old sister, Whitney, got last place. It just goes to show that winning isn't everything. But one thing I did win in was getting enough courage to pet a HUGE cow. It was so big, I ran around it twice and got lost! No wait, scratch that. It was so big it could've used the Grand Canyon as a bathtub! It was super exciting though! Last year, my friend Becky let me wash one of her cows. Yes, that's right. I got to give a baby cow a bubbly "warsh" in the hose. I felt very accomplished with my sparkling clean calf.
