Nauvoo in a Nutshell

Today my family and I had the opportunity to go to Carthage Jail and Nauvoo! For those of you who don't know, Carthage Jail is the place where the Prophet Joseph Smith was martyred by a vicious mob. The trials that Joseph Smith went through are unfathomable. It's amazing to me how a man was willing to give his life in order to help restore God's church on the earth. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life because it makes me so happy. Knowing God's love for me and His children really makes my life worthwhile, and the little trials I go through seem much easier because of that.

My dad, mom, lyric and I also got to enter the Nauvoo temple to perform baptisms for the dead. My dad was the one who got to baptist me in the font, which rushed back memories of my original baptism when I was 8. I remember being so excited to join the church and how hard I tried to remain spotless from the sins of the world. I'm so grateful I could enter the Nauvoo temple today.

Such a great day!
